Old Alleys and Buildings

  • Old Alleys

Remich's old alleys mirror the city's century-old history. The 'Maacher Gaass' alley, for example, owes its name to the 18th century mayor Willibrord Macher. Similarly, St Cunibert Street was named after Saint Cunibert who was born in Remich in 590. The history of St Cunibert, who was named patron in 1998 by the city of Remich, underlines the village's historic past.
A walk through the streets 'Maacher Gaass', 'Neie Wee', 'St Cunibert', 'St Nicolas' with its St Nicolas gate which is also registered as a national monument, or the 'Piirtchen' are Must-See's in Remich.

  • Historical Buildings

Historical buildings, house fronts and doors, ornamented with remains of the Roman and Baroque eras, can be found all over Remich. Among these buildings are the school on Enz street as well as the former school building 'Al Schoul' or the 'Veräinshaus'. Walking through the village's old alleys, many hidden historical treasures can be discovered.
