Vineyards
For thousands of years, the Moselle region, as well as the city of Remich, have been Luxembourg's winegrowing hotspots. Even the Latin poet Ausonius sang of the Moselle's vines.
Remich is situated on the banks of the Moselle River in a valley enclosed by vineyards in the South and East, while the large forest surrounds the Northern part of the city. The vineyards 'Scheierbierg' and 'Primerbierg' are not only popular with the locals but also grow the grapes used in the production of the best Moselle wines. Yet, the vineyards in Remich are also known for their great and diverse walking trails. On the 'Janglisbunn', one can walk or bike from Remich to Ellange.
